Poem-a-Day: #11 and Bank Street’s Best Books of 2012

(for J.P.)
Her hand winds through air.
Her mind stretches toward sun–
Reaching for meaning.

Great news! BookSpeak! Poems About Books is on the Bank Street’s Best Books of 2012, Ages Five to Nine. Woohoo! At least, that’s what I’ve been told. I can’t get the pdfs to open–they’re just a bunch of code for me. But it sounds like there is a LOT of poetry on the lists, and I’m so happy about that. Congratulations to all the writers and illustrators whose books are on the list. Can’t wait to read it and do happy dances for all the books I love on there.
