15 Words or Less: Lifeguard?

Welcome to 15 Words or Less Poetry Day! I posted updated guidelines yesterday, so those of you who are new or who were just never sure of the rules to begin with:>) can check those out!

I was looking for a picture of a carwash this morning, but as usual, I got sidetracked by something a little off the spin-brushed path! What does the image bring to mind for you? For me, it reminds me of that old video for the Cars song "Magic," where Ric Ocasek is supposed to look like he’s walking on water, but you can kinda see the clear platform under the water (see 1:45 in on the video).

But I digress. It also makes me think of a spoof of a horror move, like Ghost Story, only in the spoof the car just goes into the pool instead of a dark, murky lake. And it makes me think of the time I was driving in a horrendous afternoon summer storm in Florida, and the roads near school were flooded and my car stalled–with water actually coming up through the floorboards. That was a little scary.

So, that’s what it makes me think of. What about you?

Take one of your answers to that question and write a quick 15 words or less poem and leave it in the comments below. Have fun! Just use the image to get your brain moving–your poem doesn’t have to actually relate to this picture!

P.S. I’d be grateful if you’d vote for my poetry book Stampede! by clicking on the aqua rectangle at the top of this entry.
